Hospice of Kankakee Valley invites you to the first ever Legacy Tree Planting-Join them as they plant new roots to remember the lives that took root in us. This year, because the butterfly population has taken a drastic decline, HKV has decided to discontinue the butterfly release. However, in its place, they have decided to plant new life: a tree in honor of our loved ones. This tree will be called the legacy Tree and will be a memorial in honor of those who have passed. At this impactful event, they will plant the tree together and also give you seed paper to plant in your own yard as a personal memorial. As the memories of our loved ones live on, this tree will be a reminder of the legacy they left. Snacks, drinks, story time, and face painting for the kids will all be on site. The ceremony will begin promptly at 2:30pm on Sunday, September 14th from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
