WKAN News Director, Rob West, has lived in the Kankakee area for more than two decades. Rob came to the area in the fall of 1983 to attend Olivet Nazarene University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech/Communications in 1987.

 
Olivet is also where Rob met his wife, Fredda, and the two got married shortly after his graduation.
 
Rob started working at WKAN while still in college and has worked in several different areas of radio. From part-time air talent to management to News Director and co-host of the WKAN Morning Show with Mike Tomano.
 
When Rob's not covering some hot news story or council meeting, he spends time with Fredda, his daughters Kayleigh and Amanda and the family dogs, Cocoa & Sugar.
